Great question! Our students come from a variety of professional backgrounds. Specifically, we have had students who are licensed massage therapists, public school teachers, public health specialists, physical therapists, personal trainers, entrepreneurs, college professors, care coordinators, social workers, stay at home moms and dads, wholistic health practitioners, athletic coaches, advertising and marketing consultants, nurses, and doulas, to name a few.
Is there flexibility in which live session I attend?
Yes! We ask for students to be as consistent as possible to form genuine connections with their peers, but we understand that our adult learners are wearing many hats. Students are expected to attend 1 live session per week.
What happens if I need to miss a live session?
The live sessions are the heart and soul of our program. It is where you practice the skills and grow as a confident coach.
That said, we know life happens and you may need to miss a session. You can make that session up by attending another live session that week or by doubling up on sessions later in the course.
The NBHWC does not allow you to receive credit for watching the live session recording.
When are the live sessions and how long are they?
New for 2025- our Fall and Spring live sessions are offered on Mondays and Thursdays and we offer times in the AM and PM. The live sessions are 2 hours long. Please refer to the cohort calendar for specifics based on timezone.
The condensed Summer program has Tuesday AND Thursday live sessions and we offer AM and PM times. The live sessions are 3 hours long.
What coursework will I have to complete and how much time will it take?
Each weekly module contains a mix of teaching videos, readings, quizzes, discussion board assignments, and case studies. We recommend you complete the work before the live session so you are prepared to practice the new skills. Each module will take on average around 1.5-2 hours depending on prior knowledge.
Will your program help me prepare for the NBHWC exam?
Yes, our robust Health and Wellness Coach Certification program is designed to help you prepare for the NBHWC exam.
No other programs / classes are needed.
We also offer a Free NBHWC Exam Study Course.

Yes, we offer guidance on how to get started with your coaching business including:

Do you cover nutrition?
We offer a holistic curriculum, that focuses on the whole person and nutrition is one piece of the puzzle.

Is your program 100% online?
Yes, all curriculum is online and can be accessed at your convenience. The live sessions are held over Zoom.
There are no in-person requirements. We have had students from across the United States and several from other countries.
How long is your program?
Our Fall and Spring program is 20-weeks. (16 weeks of live sessions and 4 weeks of independent work time)
Summer is 8 weeks (6 weeks of live sessions and 2 weeks of independent work time)
Each program has the same curriculum and requirements.
Does your program have prerequisites?
No, our program does not have any prerequisites.
However, the NBHWC does have prerequisites for the exam. Please review their website to view their requirements: www.nbhwc.org
Do you offer assistance in acquiring the 50 coaching sessions required by the NWHWC?
Yes, we have developed a 10 strategy toolkit to help our recent graduates to obtain their 50 coaching sessions (as required by the NBHWC to sit for the exam). Strategies include cross-cohort connections, coaching new ECC students, a ready-made flier that can be customized to distribute to local organizations, churches, gyms, schools, etc, and a Facebook community to promote your services in. ECC staff will work with recent graduates to fulfill this requirement.
What are the requirements for completing the program?
To earn your CEHWC (Certified Expert Health and Wellness Coach) Certificate you need to complete the following:
Online Coursework
Attend 11 of the 16 live sessions
Submit your Practical Skills Assessment (practice coaching videos)
Pass the final Practical Skills Assessment (we spend the entire program working up to this)
To earn your CEHWC (Certified Expert Health and Wellness Coach) certificate AND your Certificate of Eligibility for the NBHWC Exam, you need to complete the following:
Coursework
Attend 16 live sessions
Submit your PracticalSkills Assessment (practice coaching videos)
Pass the final Practical Skills Assessment(we spend the entire program working up to this)
You have one full year to complete all the requirements. If all requirements haven't been met within a year, the student can pay a fee of $500 for an extension.
Do you cover coaching in a variety of settings?
Our coaching curriculum is great for individuals looking to do private practice coaching as well as those looking to work in additional settings, such as hospitals, wellness clinics, corporate wellness programs, etc. We provide information on what coaching looks like in different settings, we also have case studies for coaches working in diverse settings.
How much is your program and are there any hidden costs?
Our program is $3900. We offer an early bird discount to encourage early enrollment to save your spot.
There are no additional costs to our program, although we recommend investing in your coaching library.
